I agree with all that! I don't plan on using the Shelf and hope my books can avoid appearing on it for anyone!

Disagree! I think the DNF shelf is a terrible thing. Authors are working hard enough to get readers, and Goodreads doesn't need to create a whole shelf to denigrating books. If you don't like a book, either rate it accordingly, or better yet, just put it down and move on. If you don't have anything nice to say...

Great post! Strangely, I was just wondering when you'd put out another newsletter, and then it arrived. I like to see what you are reading, even if I don't always make it to book group. Is there a new pick? Congrats on the IBPA; very exciting! As for the DNF shelf, I always think I finish all the books I start, but now looking around, there are a bunch with bookmarks that I haven't made it through! But I probably wouldn't shelve them as DNF, because whatever made me stop reading, it isn't always that I didn't like the book. Sometimes, some other book came along that was more exciting. And maybe I'll get back to the book some day. Stay well!

Thank you! I aim to do them weekly, but the past month has been unusually crazy. Hopefully I can now get back on track! We do need a new pick for the book club - any suggestions? Have you read anything good lately? I'm currently reading The Adjunct by Maria Adelmann and it's great.

I'm reading The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali, which I'm enjoying. I'm looking forward to starting All Afternoon by Susan Kleiman next; she's a local author and friend -- always great to support!
